The records document the testing and research of specific consumer products in the United States by Consumers' Research, Inc., between 1930 and 1981. Products were tested and the results were published in Consumers' Research Bulletin, Consumers' Research Magazine, and other Consumers' Research publications under the supervision of Frederick J. Schlink. The technical files include correspondence, notes, magazine and newspaper clippings, photographs, product literature, test results, project reports, charts comparing different brands of products, operating manuals, advertisements, purchase orders, product wrappers, boxes and packaging, and in some instances the actual product.
